Jarrett, Jr., Pomp Ray

HIGH POINT Pomp Ray Jarrett, Jr., of High Point, NC, passed away at his home on August 30, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel. Pomp was employed by Gildan Yarn in Salisbury as a supervisor. He loved to travel with his wife Janice to Las Vegas on vacation. Pomp enjoyed spending time with his family having cook-outs and get togethers. His hobby was collecting knives which he enjoyed sharing with his grandson Jacob, as well as starting a collection for the younger boys, Easton and Grayson. Pomp's only granddaughter, Hanna, wasn't a knife collector, but she never went without what she wanted. He loved any type of toy or new gadget and couldn't wait to show it and share it with you. He was most excited during Christmas, because he put so much thought into starting a separate kind of collection for each person. Pomp had an extraordinary love for his sisters. His loving heart and smile will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, soulmate and best friend, Janice; his children, Tracey DerBoghosian and husband Paul, Kristi Pope and husband Jeremy; his grandchildren, Hanna and Jacob DerBoghosian, Easton and Grayson Pope; his sisters, Trilby Clark and husband Bob, Bobbie Jo Biggs and Kim "Baby Sister" Jarrett; and his sisters-in-law, Vicky Coleman and husband O.T. and Kathy Carter and husband Herb. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pomp Ray Jarrett, Sr. and Irene Hall Jarrett. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tracey DerBoghosian. The family requests that baskets and plants only be sent due to there being no graveside service. Memorial contributions may be offered to Hospice of Rockingham County or to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.booneandcooke.com.#ndn-video-pl...
